Hillsdale City Police Department Frequently Asked Questions
What is the process to apply for a concealed weapon (pistol) permit?
Contact Detective Brad Martin or Sergeant Scott Hephner at 437-6460 for information on the permitting process. Once you have completed the requirements, any administrative officer (chief, deputy chief, sergeant, or detective) can inspect your permitted firearm.
When is police dispatch open?
Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. You may request an officer by stopping into the Clerk’s Office between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. or use the red “call box” in front of City Hall. When requesting a copy of an accident report or other documentation, it is generally recommended that this request be made in writing to the police department.
How are parking tickets arbitrated?
If the City of Hillsdale Police Department administered the ticket it will say “Municipal Violation, City of Hillsdale” and the ticket will be tan in color. You may pay your ticket at City Hall. If you wish to contest the ticket, the officer will void the ticket and the matter will then go to the Second District Court at 49 North Howell Street.
