Residential Real Estate Transfers and Rental Occupancy Changes and Commercial Occupancy Changes:

Information concerning the property maintenance inspections (for either Real Estate Transfers or Rental Occupancy Change Inspections) is available at the links listed below.

Residential Use and Occupancy permits are valid for two years from the date of issuance and can remain in effect after that date, until a change in occupancy occurs. At the change in occupancy, a new Use and Occupancy permit must be obtained.

Commercial/Industrial Change in Use or Occupancy:

A Commercial Use and Occupancy permit is required upon any change in use or occupancy in any non-residential space

Complaints Concerning Specific Violations of City Ordinances:

Our office follows up with citizen complaints concerning violations of City Ordinances relating to property offenses:

Dilapidated, vacant structures
Excessive accumulation of trash/debris within a property
Insufficient maintenance of basic living conditions within rental units
Insufficient maintenance of the exterior of structure or property
Snow accumulation on sidewalks
Improper placement of signage, including Yard Sale signs
Tall grass and weeds
Brush, grass clipping placed within the public Right of Way
Refrigerators stored in the exterior of the structure
