City Clerk Parke Hayes reminds residents that the Primary Election will be held on August 5, 2008. Registered voters may vote between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Hillsdale Community Library. The library is located at 11 E. Bacon Street and is handicapped accessible. Two Automark ballot markers will be available for use by voters needing help marking their ballots. Whether voters are hearing, visually, or physically handicapped, the Automark allows these voters to vote in person unassisted.

Again in this election voters are required to produce photo identification in order to vote at the polls. The Michigan Supreme Court ruled in July 2007 that this requirement is constitutional and enforceable. If voters do not have photo identification with them, they may sign an affidavit before they vote.
