The City of Hillsdale Police Department provides 24 hour police protection to the city of Hillsdale. The Department consists of approximately 15 sworn officers, a full time Chief, Deputy Chief, and Detective.

City of Hillsdale Fire Department
Originally organized as the Baw Beese Fire Company in 1857, the City of Hillsdale Fire Department moved from the old firehouse on McCollum St. sometime in the 30's, and moved to the first floor of City Hall where it resided until 1964. Emergency Medical Service

24-hour ambulance service is provided by Reading Emergency Service, with a local ambulance house within City of Hillsdale.

The Hillsdale Community Health Center operates approximately 80 beds and provides professional health service. Meeting the full range of medical needs including emergency medicine, surgery, advanced diagnostics, with telemedicine resources and quick helicopter access to Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, or Toledo.
