I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit the city of Hillsdale website. It will be a great pleasure of mine to serve the city of Hillsdale to the best of my potential. I strongly believe that Hillsdale is one of the finest places to live not only in Michigan, but in America as well. We are a strong community consisting of 8,230 residents, and the home of numerous treasures. We are blessed to offer the world Hillsdale College, a fine institution of learning. Along with Hillsdale College we have many unique independent services, a rarity in a country full of big businesses and chains. Our hospital makes it a priority to place patients before quotas.  Lakes paint our landscape, making Hillsdale visually beautiful. Biographical Information
When Michael Sessions was 18 he quickly became an international icon after winning a write– in campaign over the 51-year-old incumbent, for mayor of the City of Hillsdale, Michigan. What had been a quiet community of 8,230 quickly became a destination for reporters from throughout the world. Television crews from Mexico, Japan, and Russia along with national media were present at the swearing in of the youngest mayor in America, possibly the world. He appeared on Letterman, the Today Show, and was parodied on Saturday Night Live all within four days of the election. His appearances since have been on the Montel Williams Show, Judge Hatchett, and The Ellen Show. Along, with appearances in major magazines such as People and Seventeen. He’s also been the keynote speaker at several events around the country.

www.cityofhillsdale.org received more than 250,000 hits in less than a month as people from throughout the world wanted to learn more about this unique story.

Michael’s successful mayoral bid has inspired hope in youth around the globe. Students from Japan, Korea, Germany, South Africa, Great Britain, as well as the United States have contacted him with congratulatory emails while sharing their dreams.

Michael is a student at Hillsdale College and is in his second year as mayor of the City of Hillsdale.
