What is the "Historic Hillsdale Refreshment Area?"

The Historic Hillsdale Refreshment Area is the program name for the City of Hillsdale Social District, which was established by the Hillsdale City Council on May 1, 2023, as allowed under Public Act 124 of 2020.

The Social District contains a commons area, where individuals age 21+ can enjoy an adult beverage from a participating establishment outdoors in designated public areas downtown.

There are more than 99 cities in 41 different counties in Michigan with an active Social District. More information here: https://www.michigan.gov/lara/bureau-list/lcc/faq/social-districts
