Youth Basketball Programs
Youth Basketball Registration - K-2nd is a 4 week program offered to our upcoming basketball players. Led by Hillsdale College GOAL Program students, K-2nd grade basketball focuses on the fundamentals of basketball such as dribbling, ball control, passing and shooting. This program begins with a Hillsdale Charger Basketball Season Kickoff held in October at Hillsdale College Roche Sports Complex. Coach Keven Bradley and the Hillsdale College Chargers Men's Basketball Team invite all basketball participants to join them for a special session working on various aspects of the sport (followed by pizza!). The program will continue on Saturdays, at the Gier Elementary School gym,175 Spring St., Hillsdale. All participants receive t-shirts on the last day of the program. Registration will open mid-August. Cost $30. Registration will open mid-August. Boys/Girls Basketball - 3rd-6th is a 6 week program in which teams are formed in 4 divisions: Boys 3rd/4th Grades, Boys 5th /6th Grades, Girls 3rd/4th Grades and 5th/6th. Teams are coached by Hillsdale College GOAL Program students as well as any parents who might want to help with a team. Practices will begin the week the first week of November; times will be determined by the coach and school gym availability. There will be at least 2 practices until games start. Some coaches slip a 3rd practice in, but only until games start then they go back to twice per week with games on Saturdays . Games are at Davis Middle School in the upper and lower gyms depending on the division. Girls Division is played at Gier Elementary. Games are played in a Round Robin format so each team plays at least 2 times each Saturday for 4 Saturdays. We will break for Thanksgiving week and then be back to 2 practices and games on Saturdays following the holiday. Kids signed up for 3rd-6th are also invited (and encouraged) to attend the Hillsdale College Basketball Season Kick off at Hillsdale College Roche Sports Complex with Coach Keven Bradley and the Hillsdale Chargers Men's Basketball team at the Hillsdale College Roche Sports Complex, free of charge. This program is a great "warm-up" for those who will go on to play travel basketball after the holidays. Uniforms are included. Registration will open mid-September.
